The Roaming Foodie

About the Foodie

My name is Caitlin, and I’m a junior in college. I’m starting this blog as a restaurant review, cooking/baking journal, and just a general way for me to show my love for food and eating.  At this point in time, I move back and forth frequently between Birmingham AL, Atlanta GA, and South Carolina. Starting this summer, I’ll just be in Atlanta and SC.

You’ll see quite a bit of my own culinary adventures.  I’m not a chef, I have no professional culinary training (unless you count watching Food Network for hours on end), but I enjoy it a great deal. I love making food for people and seeing them react. Smiles and praise over any dish I’ve created gives me great pride, and critique just wills me to go back into the kitchen and try again.

As much as I love cooking, I really love baking. I love pastries, and love making them even more. To me, since it is a slower process, it is much more relaxing and therapeutic than just cooking a dinner (although that can be therapeutic when you’re in a rush).

I also love eating out at restaurants. I am definitely NOT a certified food critic or anything like that, but I know what I like and what I don’t like. Thus, that’s how my reviews of restaurants are formed. Hopefully I can get a little better at focusing on all aspects of restaurants, and not just the food. So we’ll see how that goes as well.

I’ll try to stay on topic in this blog, but I have a penchant for rambling and straying off topic (I not only roam geographically, but verbally as well), so I apologize in advance for any random posts that have nothing to do with food. I really will try my best though.  I’ll also take pictures of food as often as I can and post it.

I hope ya’ll enjoy this blog! (Did I mention I’m southern?) 🙂
